Why cure matters: fresh soap still holds excess water and unreacted lye. During the cure, water evaporates — the bar gets harder, lasts longer in the shower, lathers better, and becomes milder on skin. Cutting the cure short gives you a soft bar that melts away fast. Patience pays.
