What should I record during a burn test?
Wax type, wick size, fragrance and load percentage, container diameter, burn time, melt pool, flame behavior, scent throw, and any issues like sooting or mushrooming.
How many test burns does a candle need?
At least 3–4 full burn cycles before you judge a candle. Wick performance can change between the first and later burns.
