Can you tell us about yourself?

I am 37 years old, mother of 3 daughters and 2 dogs! I have a small business called Velvet Sensations that I created about 10 years ago. I have always handmade my products in my kitchen, photographed and edited them all on my own. I graduated with a Graphic Designer degree and used my knowledge to help elevate my business. I recently started making candles and found myself really enjoying making wax embeds more than making the actual candles. For me, it gave me the ability to use my creativity at its max. So now I created another business called Real Embedded that focuses on high quality and realistic wax foods and more. I get great pleasure seeing my embeds incorporated in fellow candle makers creations!

Can you tell us about your business and what your roll in the company is?

Real embedded is a small business that was opened about a month ago after seeing a few sales personally. So I wanted to step up to a more professional manner and voila, Real Embedded was created!

What made you get involved in candlemaking?

Candlemaking gives me the oportunity to use my creativity better than I can with handmade skincare products. I can now create small art right in my own kitchen, and see them being turned into something greater in others hands.

What do you enjoy about running your business?

I have more control over hours and the days, but most importantly I have full control over the quality of my products being produced. Customer satisfaction is my number one priority.

Can you give us a tip that you would tell someone starting out now in the same business?

Always be unique and be different from the crowd, that’s what will make you stand out!
